Cayman Islands Culture

All three islands of the Caymans have a total population of over 33,000 people. About 32,000 people reside on the largest island, followed by 1,200 residents on Cayman Brac and a scant 120 on Little Cayman. The Cayman Islands are a very diverse place with residents from all over the world. Many people that live on the island are from the US, Canada, UK, and nearby Jamaica. English is the primary language, but you will hear accents on other
areas of the island that relate to the Caribbean, such as Jamaican. Due to the influences of the Jamaican culture, the islands menu reflects the cuisine. You can expect to see jerk chicken on the menu, rice and beans, beef patties, and fried fish. The people and food are full of culture and flavor. When enjoying the menu, talk to a local of the island and have some rum, there is no better way to get to know people of the islands better than eating with them. Food always brings people together.
