the thrill of a lifetime with the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb--
Voted one of the top 10 things to do in the world by the Travel
channel. The climb is a 3 ½ hour adventure high above the
city. It begins with complex preparation, as you remove jewelry,
watches, etc. and take a breathalyzer test. Then, you adorn bridge
gear including a grey jumpsuit, raingear, gloves, all of which must
be connected to you in some way. Even glasses must be latched onto
you. Nothing can fall off or it may crack the windshield of a car
below. Before beginning the actual climb, you must go through the
climb simulator to make sure you are physically able to handle the
massive steps and ladders, and emotionally able to handle the height.
Once you step out onto the climb, get ready for the rush. Cars rush
past at 60 mph as you just hang on. Once you reach the top, a breathtaking
view of Sydney harbour awaits. Every color and light of every building
reflects into the water. The climb is now worth the effort, however,
definitely not for the faint of heart.
