Australia Shopping
|
|
Australia has many outdoor
markets held all over the country, as well as shopping centers
with unique products and fashion.
Sydney:
Sydney offers a Saturday market on Oxford Street called the
“Paddington Village Bazaar” that sells hats, fashion,
jewelry, ceramics, anything you need. Oxford |
Street also offers a mix of galleries and boutiques. If you prefer
indoors, the Queen Victoria building is a famous multi-level center
with 200 shops and cafes which include famous brand designers and
unique Australian jewels and aboriginal artifacts. In central Sydney,
explore the Pitt Street Mall housing five multi-level malls, the serious
shopper’s fantasy.
Melbourne:
Melbourne is also known as the fashion capital of Australia. For
big name designers and imports, visit the Crown Entertainment Complex.
There you will also find Australian designers such as Jane Lamerton,
Saba, and Alannah Hill.
Brisbane:
Walk the Queen Street Mall--a street blocked off to cars, shoppers
simply walk from store to store and stop to eat and people watch
at the outdoor cafes right in the middle of the street. Located
in the heart of the city, you can marvel at the historical buildings
as you eat your ice cream cone from Hungry Jacks.
Adelaide:
Rundle Mall provides a variety of boutiques and specialty stores.
Many cultures are represented here, each selling unique gifts to
bring back to your homeland. The area is colorful and luscious with
a variety of parks near the Mall.
