Balloon Rides

 Address Balloon Above the Desert
83232 East Avenue 44
Indio, Ca. 92201
Hours Sunrise: Sept. 01 through May 31
Sunset: Nov. 01 through Mar. 31
 Phone (760) 347-0410

Take in a view of the desert not often seen –an aerial view from a hot air balloon. With flights available at sunrise and sunset, enjoy a relaxing and carefree ride. You will have a guided tour complete with champagne and cookies with your group flying high above the city. You will also receive a picture and flight certificate as bragging rights to show your friends and family back home.

For those who want a little bit more privacy to a romantic balloon ride, you can book a balloon all to yourself and your significant other—called the “Sweetheart Flights.” This is perfect for wedding proposals, anniversaries or honeymoons. If you call ahead, the company can set up a special evening or morning for just the two of you. These rates are a bit higher than the group tours, but well worth the experience and memories.

The company also offers free shuttle service from most major resorts. Your pick up time will be confirmed when you receive your flight reservation.

Motorcycle Rentals

 Address Palm Springs Intl Airport
3400 East Tahquitz Canyon Way
 Phone 1-877-RENT-A-HD
 Website www.eagleridersd.com/palmsprings

A different and adventurous way to view the desert is on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. With perfect weather, palm trees lining the streets, and the desert wind blowing on your face, Palm Springs offers the ideal for riding a motorbike.

When arriving at the airport, instead of heading to the rental car area, walk to Eaglerider. Eaglerider Palm Springs is conveniently located in the airport directly adjacent to the baggage claim area and offers motorcycles available immediately for pick up. Helmets are included and are available at the rental counter at the time of pick up. All you need is a valid driver's license from the Country, Province or State of permanent residence with a motorcycle endorsement, along with a major credit card.

Pricing plans vary, but you can find specials on the website for mid-week rentals.

Desert Art Collection

Address 45-350 San Luis Rey Avenue, Palm Desert
 Phone 760-674-9955
 Website www.desertartcollection.com

If you are an art lover, The Desert Art Collection showcases contemporary art in a finely crafted building with sculpture gardens. Even the architecture of the structure housing the art is worth the visit. Gallery and garden exhibitions can be seen all year long and often feature internationally known artists. During a free afternoon, come stroll along the breathtaking gardens and capture the serenity the Desert Art Collection offers.

On the first Thursday of every month, you can participate in the ArtWalk from 5 to 9 p.m. All participating galleries on El Paseo will be open, many with refreshments and special exhibits.

They also offer custom design services. Not only can you visit the art throughout the building and gardens, you can have the art in your home. The artists use distinctive art and sculptures from all over the world.
