All modes of transportation, including highways, originate in Dublin,
making it easy to return to the city after exploring other nearby
counties during the day.
Dublin Buses service the entire county- the inner city and its
surrounding suburbs- and run from 6am to 11:30pm daily. The buses
come in varying shapes and colors, but all bear the “db”
logo. Limited late night buses also run Thursday – Saturday
evenings. (Tel: +353-1-873-4222)
About 25 stations are serviced by the suburban rail service DART
(Dublin Area Rapid Transit). A limited number of destinations along
the coast can be reached via the electric train. (Tel: +353-1-703-3504)
The CIE is the state’s transport company and its trains run
to all parts of Ireland. Dublin’s two main train stations
are Connolly and Heuston Station. (Tel: +353-1 836-6222)
