Getting Around Cook Islands

Public Transportation on the Cook Islands is a convenient and low cost method of transportation around the island. It will pick you up and set you down anywhere by request. Cook's Island Bus Passenger Transport Ltd can be contacted on 25512, 9am to 4pm or 20349 after hours. Bus departs every hour (7am - 4pm weekdays, 8am - 1pm Saturdays) traveling clockwise. Bus departs every 25 mins past the hour (8:25am - 4:30pm weekdays, 8:30am - 12:30pm Saturdays) traveling anti-clockwise around the island. Buses travel around Rarotonga every hour in each direction between 7am and 4pm Mon through Sat with reduced Sunday services. There's also a night bus operating until 10pm weekdays until 1.30am on busy Friday nights. Fares are NZ$2.50 a ride or NZ$17 for 10 rides. There is no bus service on Aitutaki (except airport pick-ups / drop-off's) nor on the other islands.
