Museums

  • The Allard Pierson Museum - The archaeological museum of the University of Amsterdam. The nucleus of its collection are the collections of C.W. Lunsingh Scheurleer, Van Leer, Six, and Van Lier.
  • Amsterdam Historical Museum - The collection consists of paintings, prints, maquettes, objects and archeological finds. It shows how Amsterdam grew from a small medieval town to a world famous centre.

  • Houseboat Museum - The museum has been established on the "Hendrika Maria" a former commercial sailship built in 1914.
