Though Toronto is a large city, the Toronto Transit Commission, or TTC, makes
it easy to get around by linking together a subway system with streetcars
and buses. The subway is especially easy to navigate, with clearly
written station names and maps all written in English. It operates
everyday and is open from 6 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. from Monday through
Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Sundays. The TTC unlimited
Day Pass is a great way to get around the city, on any of the public
transport vehicles, for only $8 CAN. Otherwise, expect to pay $2.50
CAN for every ride you take ($1.70 CAN for children and seniors),
although the multiple trip book of tickets is a little cheaper (5
rides cost only $10 CAN).
