Getting Around Morocco

If you’re traveling between cities, CTM, the national bus line, is the most secure and comfortable and runs on schedule. Seats must be reserved and can be purchased ahead. In addition to your fare, there is a small charge for any baggage you bring on board (including backpacks).

Grand Taxis are large Mercedes that travel between cities as well. Normally, they carry 6 passengers, and if you’re traveling with a big group of people, this might be a better alternative, as they are quicker than buses because of the lack of stops. Fixed-rate fares are higher than bus fares, but still reasonable. If you’re traveling alone, make sure you indicate you want to buy a fare for a place in a shared taxi. Grand taxis are gathered in large numbers outside most bus terminals.

Another method of transportation is by rail, which provides cheap and reliable travel between major cities.
