Getting Around Cape Town

Getting around Cape Town is very easy. The major form of public transportation is the intercity bus companies that are reliable for short and long distance rides. Not only are they flexible, but they offer a hop on, hop off service through some interesting routes throughout the country. Public bus transportation in Cape Town is called the Baz Bus. There is no round trip price for the Baz Bus, you pay for a one way ticket. There is no time limit on the bus, so you can ride to your hearts content and enjoy the scenery. The two most popular routes are Cape Town to Port Elizabeth (the Garden Route) at a cost of R720 ($88) one-way; and Cape Town to Johannesburg via Drakensberg or Big-Game Country at a cost of R1,650 ($205) or R2,020 ($250) respectively.
