Belgian Culture

Belgium’s culture or cultures is divided between the Flemish north and French-speaking south. Though both cultures are prevalent, Brussels is more closely associated with the French-speaking Belgians. This culture’s tastes are very similar to that of Parisians. Brussels Belgians love the visual arts as well as the performing arts. The National Orchestra and the National Opera House are internationally acclaimed and the city is home to over 30 independent theatres.

In addition, Brussels’ cityscape is an artistic creation in itself. Alternative Rock music seems to have caught on amongst the city’s hot, young crowd. Brussels’ media rivals Paris’ for being the most uninhibited. It wouldn’t be strange to see an advertisement hanging along side the city’s tallest building with a fully revealed woman on it. Belgians are fun, friendly, and hip people that have a great sense of humor.

Let Brussels’ warm culture welcome you.
