Tucson Weather
The weather in Tucson in the summer is almost unbelievably hot – usually
in the three digits in June and July. The heat may bear down as
early as April and not let up until October. It is not something
to be taken lightly. There are two slightly moderating factors:
first, it is a dry heat, which means that going into the shade reduces
the temperature significantly; second, August and September is monsoon
season. Almost every night for a few weeks a brief and spectacular
lightning storm will move from the mountains over portions of the
city and drop flooding amounts of rain.Still, summer is a trial.
The winter, on the other hand, is ideal. The average temperatures
are in the sixties and it almost never rains. Between October and
February the city suddenly becomes much more crowded.
