Toronto Weather
Canadians often joke that they ride dogsleds to school, which
are made of igloos. But the truth is that rarely happens (“rarely,”
because some people who live in the northern territories in Canada
actually do use dogsleds as one system of transportation, though
their schools are not made of snow and ice). As it so happens, Toronto
has one of the warmest springs and summers in the country.
Spring temperatures range from 36 to 50 degrees and about 2.5 inches
of rain fall each month. The summers are known for their humidity
and daily temperatures average between 61 and 81 degrees. It also
rains a little more with rainfall averaging around 3 inches a month.
The autumn months bring a little less rain and cooler temperatures,
ranging from 44 to 56 degrees, while winter is cold. Temperatures
drop to just below freezing and expect up to 4 inches of snowfall
during the winter months—so be sure to pack that scarf and
toque (that’s what Canadians call winter hats!)
