Sedona Weather
Because of Sedona’s elevation, it is one of the rare places
in Arizona that actually experiences the seasons. The summers are
very hot and dry, with averages in the 90s. The winters are mild
– the January mean temperature is 43 degrees – but there
is sometimes snow and ice and the mountains are always snowcapped.
Spring and Autumn are of course lovely: warm days, brisk nights,
and very little rain. In truth, it’s hard to find a particularly
bad time to come to Sedona, but if you are trekking under the sun,
especially in summer, you must take special care to stay hydrated
at all times. Don’t underestimate the strength of the desert
sun, even if it’s hazy or cloudy.
