Phoenix Culture
|
|
Phoenix meshes together different cultures from
a variety of sources including the large population of Mexican
immigrants, the surrounding native American communities, and
the many folks from California and the northeast U.S. that now
call Phoenix home. You won’t see too many cowboys in modern
day Phoenix. Though, the neighboring city of Scottsdale has
done a fine job preserving old western architecture. Phoenix
lays claim to some of the best Mexican restaurants in the United
States. |
Evidence
of Phoenix’s heritage as a copper mining town is still present
today. Fittingly, the city square is know as Copper Square. The
copper mining conglomerate, Stealth Dodge, is still amongst the
areas top employers.
Phoenicians are generally laid back, happy, and upbeat people.
After all, with the sun always shining and palm trees out their
front door, why won’t they be.
