Philadelphia Culture
|
|
Philadelphia is home to one
of the most unique cultures in the nation. Philadelphians
love their city. Many have lived in New York City and elsewhere
but for some reason always return to Philadelphia. The city
offers a wonderful mix of urban living and suburban activities.
Some of the people and events that come to mind when you
think of Philadelphia include Will Smith, |
Bill Cosby, Rocky Balboa, MTV’s Real World and, of course,
George Washington and the signing of the Declaration of Independence
and the Constitution. Fiction or non-fiction, all of these things
are to some extend a part of Philadelphia’s culture. Historic
buildings are sprinkled all around the Italian Market, Philadelphia’s
swanky restaurants, the universities and the basketball courts in
south Philly. Many people say that Philadelphia’s Chinatown
is better then that of New York.
A large number of pharmaceutical and biotech companies are concentrated
within the Philadelphia area. For that reason, many ambitious working
professionals work in those fields. The Amish and the Pennsylvania
Dutch are also associated Philadelphia, as are soft pretzels, cheese
steaks and cream cheese. Tourist are guaranteed to get their fill
of rich culture and patriotic heritage when visiting Philadelphia.
