Orlando Shopping
|
|
The Orlando area is home to eight
world-class malls, with the most upscale possibly being the
Mall at Millenia. This two-story, 150-store mall is anchored
by world famous Bloomingdale's and Macy's. Altogether, Orlando's
malls have nearly 1,000 stores, restaurants and movie theatres.
But Orlando also has a variety of all-price outlets. One of
the newest on the scene is Festival Bay at International Drive,
which features beachwear and outdoor clothing. Many of the retailers |
here are new to the local scene. They include Ron Jon Surf Shop
and Bass Pro Shop outdoor World. Not far away, the Florida Mall has
270 stores, including such upscale outlets as Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue
and Brooks Brothers. The area's granddaddy of shopping is the Altamonte
Mall, which also has an 18-screen AMC theatre. Another 60 stores such
as AIX Armani Exchange and Abercrombie and Fitch can be found at PointeOrlando,
located on International Drive, which has its own diverse collection
of t-shirt and gift shops.
Outlet centers are not neglected. Burberry and Cole Haan are among
stores found at Orlando Premium Outlets, Belz Factory Outlet World
and Kissimmee Value Outlet Shops.
Orlando's shopping scene is also boosted by the theme parks, all
of which have fully stocked gift shops. In addition, there's a diverse
mix of shopping, restaurants and nighttime activities at Walt Disney
World Resort's Downtown Disney, Universal Orlando's CityWalk and
The Waterfront at SeaWorld.
To slow down the pace, suburban Winter Park's brick streets shaded
by old oaks welcomes shoppers with art galleries and stores that
are similar to those found on Rodeo Drive.
