Maui Culture

Although Hawaii is stereotyped to be mostly integrated with Polynesian people, in reality Maui is a host to every major race and over 50 ethnic groups. You can find any culture in Maui from Japanese, to Chinese, American, and Polynesian, In addition, to various religions. 60% of the people living on the island were born in Hawaii, 25% of the population living on Maui was born on the mainland, and 15% of the people on the island came from foreign countries
and decided to reside on Maui. Pidgin once the official language of Hawaii is now only spoken on the island of Niihau. Nowadays no matter were you go on the Island of Maui, English can be heard practically everywhere. Even though a mix of people live on the island, native-born Hawaiians respect and praise their tradition, and culture all throughout the Island of Maui.
