Florence Weather
Although the scenery of Florence is gorgeous all year round, the spring and
early fall are ideal seasons for traveling. During the spring, the
weather is mild and relatively warm, but the city is usually crowded
with tourists. By the summer, especially July and August, the weather
is increasingly hot and dry, and the sunflower fields, characteristic
of Tuscany, begin to brown. Try to visit when the weather cools
in late September, as it remains mild until the end of fall in early
November and the intense season of tourism beings to taper off.
During this time, not only are the attractions less crowded, but
the weather is usually in the sixties, and perfect for walking around
from place to place. Although it occasionally snows in Florence
and the city can be picturesque while blanketed in white, the winter
is not the best time to visit. Temperatures can reach to the twenties
and thirties, making tours and sightseeing particularly uncomfortable.
