Costa Rica Weather
Costa Rica is known to have two seasons, the ‘dry season’ and
‘green season.’ Their winters and summers run opposite
to those of the northern hemisphere, so their summers are from December
through April and their winters from May through November. Although
it’s referred to as the rainy or green season, Costa Rica’s
winters are still warm enough (and in the early months, dry enough)
to fully enjoy the beaches and environment. Because the heavy flow
of tourists is during the Costa Rican summer, the first few months
of the rainy season are a great time to visit Costa Rica. Airfare
and hotel rates are cheaper, and attractions are far less crowded.
June and July experience a slight peak in tourism due to North American
and European summer holidays. Expect hotel rates to be slightly
higher than other months, but certainly not as high as the summer
rates.
