Just inside Christiania, is the award winning restaurant Spisleloppen. Spisleloppen has a good reputation for fine dinning in Copenhagen. The décor is very romantic. The walls are decorated with fine art (most likely painted by the hippie residents) and there is a pianist whose melodies add to the warm atmosphere. The restaurant is lit by the glow of candlelight. The décor is plain but tastefull. Fresh flowers and candles are centered on wooden tables. In addition, there is a charming wood beam ceiling. Spiseloppen is much more then you would expect from the hippie owernership. Credit cards are accepted. Many families dine at Spiseloppen. The menu includes an extensive wine list and the entrées are quite intriguing. If you are feeling daring, you might want to try the frog. However, if you are hesitant about eating food prepared by hippies, who do not abide by city health codes, the vegetarian dish would be an excellent choice.
