on Cook Islands is fun and a great cultural experience, here
visitors can discover unique black pearls, quality handcrafts,
colourful clothing and electrical goods at very reasonable prices.
Exploring the many shops, craft outlets and markets is a great
way to find bargains. Some items to look out for are fine china
and designer perfumes. The dozen or so clothing outlets offer
everything from island-style clothing, |
made-to-measure garments and exclusive imports. This is where
the cultural aspect of the Cook Islands comes into play, the clothing
is amazing and if you are interested in standing out when you get
back home, buy a few authentic local styles to take back with you.
Other souvenirs to bring back home are oils and soaps their exotic
scents will be a constant reminder of the beautiful weather and
nature that the islands offers.Shopping hours are normally from
8am to 4pm during the week, and 8am to noon on Saturdays. Some resort
and village shops are open during the evening and on Sunday. The
airport shops are open for international flights. If you decide
to buy something, do not attempt to bargain as this is not an accepted
custom in the Cook Islands.
