Bermuda has one of the worlds breathtaking crystal caves. The network
of subterranean lakes, caves, and caverns is home to translucent
formations of stalagmites and stalactites. The crystal caves were
discovered in 1907, at about 36 m (118 ft.) below the surface. Inside
the cavern are hidden illuminating lights that decorate the interior.
In 2002 a second cave was open to visitors and all tours through
the caves are guided. While at the bottom of the cave, the guides
use their light systems to make shadow puppets and entertain visitors
with their humor. Crystal caves are an interesting place to take
your kids, it is guaranteed to entertain them and awe them for hours.
A reminder though, anyone who suffers from claustrophobia, might
want to pass on this illuminating experience. A small café
and gift shop exist at the attraction.
