Getting Around Amsterdam

Amsterdam is small enough so that you shouldn't have difficulties getting around on foot or by bike. However, there is an excellent metro system. The Amsterdam Metro has four lines that are mainly used by commuters from the suburbs. However, on a rainy day, you may be happy to take the metro. The main city station is Centraal Station. The metro operates between 6 am and midnight daily.
